Description

Image

Radio frequency driven atmospheric pressure plasma jets are small, robust, and affordable plasma sources, capable of generating high fluxes of reactive species at low gas temperatures. The mathematical modeling of such jets is thus of paramount importance. However, because of the high complexity of the devices, direct numerical simulation is beyond the current possibilities. This project utilizes the geometrical characteristics of the devices. i.e., the fact that they are long and narrow, to systematically simplify the mathematical description. Physically accurate simulation becomes possible.
